No, I did not die....

I am simply mourning the loss of my New Kids on the block tickets still!

Let me fill some of you in......
And no laughing while I tell the story.

In the 7th grade, I was picked by a friend to travel to Dallas to see my first concert ever.... New Kids in the Block. They came with the group Perfect Gentleman. I was allowed by my parents to go.... whew.... first plane ride, first concert. I was livin large!!
Here it is all these years later, and I hear NKOTB would be coming to my hometown! YES!!! How awesome is that?! Tickets were selling at a rate more than I cared to pay, so I told myself, the only way I would be going would be if I won them off the radio.
I played my cards right, one Monday morning, when my favorite radio show was giving away 5th row tickets.... that is close enough to push my way to center stage and get some sweat beads off my not so manly boys! Sweet..... I won the tickets! 5th row!!!
My heart was broken only a week later by the news that those little eff'rs cancelled the Albuquerque show! What?! You mean, my guys didnt want to play for the 1300 people who got tickets (most of which were probably won)?! But still, I actually cried tears when I listened to the same station I won them from, inform the listeners that they had cancelled. A woman, 33 years old, crying over some dudes that meant the world to her at 13! I am 33, who cares right?! I do!!! I wanted to see them, still after all these years!!!
So close........ so close to seeing them after all these years!
No words can tell you how I feel.........

The girl who was offensive

I never realized how much a 5 year old could offend people. Whoa..... 5!! My baby turns 5 on Sunday... close enough to say 5. Anyway....
Hannah goes to a Christian Pre-K. They have learned "The Lord's Prayer" which starts off "Our father, who art in heaven"... my child was chosen out of 25 other students to stand up and recite it amongst all the other kids and parents at daycare. She starts her prayer "Our father and my mudder who are in heaven", people laugh.... she goes on to say "and bring us dinner"...
I then tell her what a great job she did and told her that I would reward her with McDonalds... her favorite... the lady at the drive thru says Hi sweetie how are you?! Hannah responds with "When I get older I dont want to work at McDonalds like you, I want to be a doctor!" Poor thing, I know what she was trying to say.... she has her mommas sense of talking without thinking!!
Another quick bit, the other day, I grab the girls from daycare. I am in the middle of cooking dinner and Hannah says "Mommy, I have a bandaid in my ear" I said you did what?!!! She said "I have a bandaid in my ear" I said well how did that happen? her response was " I was on the playground and didnt want to litter so I put it in my ear!" I said, go sit down at the table and wait for me to pull that crap out. She responded with "I will spank myself for you!!" ANd sure enough, after digging around, I indeed pulled out a bandaid from her ear!! Me, not thinking before I speak said "You do not stick anything in any hole on your body, do you understand?" Yes mommy.... and the conversation was over!!

Babies Everywhere!

So little Sean is on the climb upwards!
My other friend I spoke of had her baby girl last night. She was 5 pounds 3 ounces. Great for a baby who was born at 34 weeks.
Today a friend from work had her baby, a girl, at 37 weeks, 5 pounds 13 pounds.
I have another friend expecting a boy, early next month too....
December brings another boy....

And me, well I will just enjoy all the little ones around me! :o)
No more babies for me... EVER!!!! ahhhh.... that is a sign of relief! lol

Sean.....

I have to make this a fast post but wanted to update fron yesterdays post.

Baby Sean is doing ok today. Seems the doctor that told my friend about how bad off the baby is, was the doctor on shift for the weekend. He never really knew how baby Sean was.
As of today, the regular doctor has talked with the parents and she says she (the doctor) is not ready to give up on him. She believes that he will get through this and that this is all "preemie" issues. They can not find a source of an infection, leading them to believe that there is not one. His kidneys ARE working as he is urinating on his own.

Prayers are paying off..... keep praying!

I will update soon!

Hurting Heart

My heart is hurting today....
I work with a gal that gave birth to a baby boy at 27 weeks. He weighs 2 pounds 5 ounces and is 14 inches long. It looked promising. He has some surgery on his intestines and still has 98% of them. He was breathing with just a nasal cannula.
Saturday, he took a turn for the worse. He developed an infection and they found his heart was not working the way it should. The parents were told they were going to need to make a decision. The doctors could not promise his quality of life. By the end of the day today, his parents were not ready to make such a decision, had a second opinion, and that doctor gave them a ray of hope.
My hurt is hurting today for another, almost similar reason....
One of the girls I have known the longest in my life, is 33 weeks pregnant. She too is having some pre-term labor issues. She is on medication to reduce the effects of her going into labor, and has been tested positive fetal fibronectin.

My heart is hurting because two of the nicest people I know are both wondering what they have done to have this happen to them, and they are blaming themselves. While one has to leave her baby boy in the NICU everynight, the other is facing having to do the same thing.

My heart truly hurts because the people that shouldnt have children are able to continue bringing life into this world. Because the children are the ones who has to suffer when their parents dont want them. My heart hurts, because the nicest people in the world who seriously want children are unable to bring them into this world. The people that cant get pregnant, for whatever reason, things happen and they are unable to carry to term.

While I am glad I have never had to face such a situation, I feel bad at the same time. Like I feel guilty that I was able to bring both my children home when I got to leave the hospital. And looking back on it, I would much rather have to go through all the problems that I had with Payton over again, than to have to live a day in either one of my friends shoes.

My heart hurts because, I cant tell them I know what they are going through.... I cant help them, all I can do is be there for each of them and listen to their hopes and fears.

I can tell you, I pray alot... I pray for miracles everyday! I believe the power of prayer can heal. For those that remember we received a miracle with the power of prayer in Paytons early days. Any one who reads this, I ask that you pray to whoever your God is. And ask that these two mothers, two fathers, and these two little babies heel and are strong enough to make it through this hard time. Pray for the families of them too.

I will keep you all updated. I know God has a plan for all of us. I just pray it is in his plan to keep these innocent babies from visiting him anytime soon.

9/11

This was too good not to repost:
I took it from 100.3 the peaks website.

a poem by Cheryl Sawyer entitled "One"
As the soot and dirt and ash rained down, We became one color. As we carried each other down the stairs of the burning building, We became one class. As we lit candles of waiting and hope, We became one generation. As the firefighters and police officers fought their way into the inferno, We became one gender. As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength, We became one faith. As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement, We spoke one language. As we gave our blood in lines a mile long, We became one body. As we mourned together the great loss, We became one family. As we cried tears of grief and loss, We became one soul. As we retell with pride of the sacrifice of heroes, We become one people.
We are One color One class One generation One gender One faith One language One body One family One soul One people
We are The Power of One. We are United. We are America.

First Regret?

I proudly boast that I have no regrets.... until now!
I believe my first regret would have to be giving up a part time night job to work full time and put my kids in full time daycare!
My oldest daughter, its been great! I couldnt ask for a better school.
My youngest, thats a different story. She has been there since June 2nd and in that time I am now on week three that she has not been on antibiotics. So sickness is pretty rampid in that daycare.
Since she started, she has had many different teachers. I gotta say I have had my favorites. But there is one teacher that is just a floater. She is a floater for a reason!! This girl has the biggest attitude I have ever come across! Today she has pissed me off beyond belief!!
I walk in to find my kid has pulled both shoes off and taken one sock off. The girl couldnt even get up to greet me as I walked in. She sat the entire time as I searched for my kids sock.
I asked if she knew where my kids sock was, her response was "Payton, where is your sock?" Um... your asking a kid to tell you where their sock is and she doesnt say anything but uh oh and hi? I am betting she will just bust right out and tell you where that sock is!! So I snickered and said, Um, your not really thinking she is gonna tell you are you? She continued to sit there. I said well is there a possibility that you could get up and put it in her box if you find it? Her response was "yeah"
SO I go to Paytons box to get her blanket and things to take home and notice that the extra shorts that I have in her box are gone. I asked about the shorts... her response "I just got here" Yeah because I give a shit when you came here.... could you look for the fricken shorts?
Needless, to say, I must calm down, before I call to file a complaint. I picked them up over an hour ago and I am still pretty well hot headed!
Should be an exciting conversation that I have with the director!!

"Bro"

What makes a white guy think they can constantly use the word "bro" while playing xbox live? I mean, I play Guitar Hero and dont find myself using ghetto talk? But my husband, his favorite word is "bro".... and he is the whitest guy I have ever met!!
Just thought I would throw that out there.....
Off to go drink me some drinks....... bros and bitches!!

911 Call

My recent call to 911.... at 2 AM

Dispatcher: Sandoval Regional Dispatch, what number are you calling from
Me: um.... 859 - 7*** (cause we have vonage, we dont show up)
Dispatcher: what address are you calling from

Dispatcher: Whats your emergency
Me: This is not a prank call, there is a guy in a white t shirt stealing my neighbors trampoline
Dispatcher: a trampoline
Me: yeah, dumb right?! Could you hurry up and get someone out here, I would really like these guys taken down.
Dispatcher: I will stay on the line with you until officers arrive.
Me: Um... how long? They are working fast
Dispatcher: They are almost there. If the officer is looking at your house what neighbor?
Me: There is only one neighbor.. could they hurry?
Dispatcher: DO you see the vehicle?
Me: yes its a truck
Dispatcher: Can you tell the make and model?
Me: Its dark..... so No
Dispatcher: What color is the vehicle
Me: Again, its dark, so I am gonna go with... DARK?!
Dispatcher: OK my officers are coming up the street
Me: Oh crap
Dispatcher: Do you see my officers?
Me: No, they are leaving
Dispatcher: The officers are leaving?
Me: No the crooks are leaving
Dispatcher: They drove away?
Me: Yes, they are headed west on Sugar
Dispatcher: We have several units in the area, did you need to make contact with the officers?
Me: I need to smoke, so sure. I will meet them out front.
Dispatcher: Have a good night
Me: you too

I go outside to meet the officers and get this............. THE CROOKS DROVE BY!!!!!! LMAO!
So needless to say, they were caught with half a trampoline in the back of their truck.

I think the award for stupid criminal goes to these two... for getting away... and returning to the scene for the other half a trampoline!!!

Grrrrrr.....

I believe I have blogged about this before but here it goes again.
I am bugged and have to vent.
Anyone who knew me pre hysterectomy would know that I was high strung. I was a hand full. I told it like it was. In short, I was a bitch!
I got the hysterectomy not because I wanted to but because it was something that had to be done.
After 6 months, I am soooo not the person I was. I dont know.. sometimes I feel good about that and then there are times like tonight when I think it was a bad thing.
I let people walk all over me now, I am quiet, I am not social. I am mellow.
Its like in the past 3 or 4 months I have slowly opened my eyes to the way, I look at things. Prolly also helped that karma came back and bit me in the ass. I just really dont care anymore if I have friends or not. I dont care. I know that sounds bad, but I dont have time for bull shit. Those who are still in my life, know who they are and those who are not also knows it. But right now I feel like I try with certain things that just are not going anywhere. Why do I care?
Why do I feel like I am a totally different person? Why do I feel like I am the only one that sees the good in me these days?

A Crappy Feeling

If you haven't read "Nosey Neighbors" read that post first.

Here is the crappiest feeling in the world:

Saturday night we had friends over. Everyone left around 11, so we locked up and went to bed. The only thing we can not swear to locking was the dog door.
6am like clock work Payton is awake. I grab her and head down stairs. I get to the bottom of the stairs and notice the blinds on the sliding glass door are open and the door is unlocked. In front of the dog door are a pair of Oakley sunglasses that are in three pieces. I think ok, that is weird. I start looking around.... if someone was in the house, they had to have taken something. As I am checking closets and the bathroom to make sure no one is hiding in them I notice the garage door to the house is opened. At this point, I KNEW someone had been in the house. I would never leave that door open.
So Woody comes down and I tell him, "Someone broke into the house last night" He gives his best "What are you talking about" without saying lady you are on crack comment. I start explaining everything to him and he goes outside to investigate. The side gate is open, another something we never leave open. And he says to come out there. The screen on the window had been taken off and bent. Someone decided after they got the screen off that they could make it through the dog door and just let them selves out when they were done.
Nothing was taken... nothing at all! We speculate that they came in thinking we weren't here and went to the garage to open it so they could wipe us out, and realized two vehicles were in there and decided to bolt.
Last night, we got NO sleep. Every little creek and sound we were up pacing around and checking to make sure no one was here. I was so scared that I wouldnt even get up to the let poor dog out when he had to go. I dont know what I will walk into.
Today coming home from work was the hardest and most scariest thing I have ever done. I pulled up to the house, took a deep breath and entered. I checked all closets, rooms, everything. I started crying because I think a person should not feel like that upon entering their own home.
It is scarey... it sucks. I dont like the feeling of wondering when I am gonna come home to an empty house!

Chicken Nuggets

Daycare really has Hannah speaking her mind more than usual these days. We live probably 3 to 4 miles from daycare. On a recent car ride home, as we are leaving daycare Hannah politely demanded the need to McDonalds chicken nuggets. I told her no, if it was chicken nuggets she wanted for dinner I would be happy to make them for her for dinner. That wasnt good enough, so the entire car ride home, I listened to her saying things like "Happy Meal", "McDonalds" and things of the like. I am used to her doing this to get her way so I just ignore it.
Go figure the light in front of the McDonalds was flashing red. There was a line and Hannah could those yellow arches from the distance, so it started again. "McDonalds" Happy Meal" "Chicken Nuggets", "Toy". My answer was simple "I said no, now cut it out" Her response "Well I will pick my boogers and wipe them all over you!"
Greta (whom I carpool with) lost it and started laughing, I started laughing. Of course we didnt want Hannah to know we were laughing so we tried to laugh without her knowing, we were laughing so hard that we started crying! I couldnt even regain composure to tell her she is not to speak like that.
My thanks goes out to daycare for teaching my child that the crusty things up Hannahs nose are called boogers. To a 4 year old, the threat of a booger is much like a parents threat to spank. Just as no kid wants a spanking, no parent wants a booger put on them!

The Steam Room

We have been battling a cold and ear infections in Payton, since I went back to work full time. The cold has not gone away, and we are on the third ear infection. When she gets congested we put the vaporizor on in her room, just as the doctor ordered. In our house, we have a water softener and because of that a pinch or two of salt is necessary in the water.
The other night I asked my husband if he would start the vaporizor for Payton. Not a problem... through the baby monitor all we could here was sort of like a popping sound... really sounded like boiling water. I figured, the vaporizor was broke in and that is how it was supposed to sound. OK, Payton goes to bed between 6 and 6:30, at nine I told Woody, I was gonna go check in on her.
I opened the door and the steam was so thick I could not even see Paytons crib 6 feet in front of me! I seriously panic-ed. I turned the fan on, opened her vent all the way, unplugged the machine and went down stairs to scold my husband.
Me: Um, did you put salt in the vaporizor when you started it tonight?
Him: Yeah, come on, lets watch this
Me: Can I ask how much salt you put in there because it only needs a pinch or two
Him: Is there a problem with the way I do things
Me: If you didnt put a pinch or two of salt in the vaporizor there is.. maybe you need to go upstairs to your daughters room to see what I am talking about
Him: Maybe you just need to tell me what your point is
Me: My point is I opened the door to her room and about choked on all the steam in there it smells like salt really bad too, so how much did you use?
Him: I sprinkled it in there
Me: Ok so you sprinkled from the salt shaker?
Him: No, the salt container!

The freakin salt container... he is so never gonna start the vaporizor again! I know he tried... but if he would have listened to me the first time he would have know a pinch or two would be super!

Men!!!

No thank you

Yesterday was my day to stay home with Hannah because she got strep at daycare.
I went out back to smoke a cigarette and managed to lock myself out.
Here was the conversation from the dog door:
Me: Hannah can you come downstairs
Hannah: NO
Me: Hannah can you give mommy the keys so she can get inside
Hannah: No thank you

So I start crawling in the dog door and she sees me and asks what I am doing, my response " well I locked myself out, and you wouldnt give me the keys to get in. Does that make you wish you would have helped now?" She looked at me and again shouted NO!!

This is why we love children!!

Nosey Neighbors!

Have you ever had one of those nosey neighbors that no matter what you do, they just notice everything. They dont really talk to anyone in the neighborhood, you just know they are watching you and they know what you are doing?!
I am guilty of just that.... let me tell you why it paid off though!
The house right next door to us is for sale and vacant. Has been for some time.
Yesterday we got home from work and I went out back and looked that way, and found that one of the kitchen windows were open with no screen on it. That's weird since no one lives there.
I immediately told my husband of the findings and let him know it was not open like that the day before and that I did notice the blilnds in the front of the house had been shut and no one had been in there to look at the place.
He called the owner and they werent there, so he hopped the wall to see if he could see anything fishy in there. He said the only thing left in the house was the pool table... yeah that was gone. So he told the neighbor he would call the cops for him to report it. The neighbor said that was fine and said he would be over shortly. Upon talking to me, he mentioned he didnt recall the appliances being in there so I told him to call Drew to ask if he had taken those out. Nope Drew didnt and neither did Michelle.
Turns out not only did the burglars take the pool table but they took every last appliance in the house! All of them!!
So much for my neighborhood feeling safe to me. But the cops said that burglars are targeting vacant houses and doing just that to them. Sucks that it happened to the house!!
Sucks that it happened right next door!

Crappy Service Pt2

So you all read the crappy service blog. Tennille called and got us free food all around.... yey for us!
Little eff'rs closed shop on Thursday July 29th!

Boo for Bennigans!

Crappy Service

So a group of us from work planned for a week that we would all venture out for lunch this afternoon. Bennigan's was the place of choice.
The events were as follows:
We pull up and park and right behind us parks a "silver Saturn" that is overheating. We walk in and immediately get seated. (Good so far right?) OK so we order our drinks, and while we were waiting for them to come another waiter is walking the resturaunt asking people if they drive a silver saturn, it is on fire! I told the girls what I wanted from the menu and thought if that car is on fire, I am moving mine! So Tammy tells the waiter, I can point out whose car that is cause they came in as we did. Not only did she point them out, but she had to tell them, their car was on fire! LOL I go outside to inspect the car that is on fire only to find that it is no longer overheating and it is sitting in the parking lot just like any other car. I turn around and walk back in and the couple has already got up and left and were barreling outside when I tell them, their car is not on fire. I explain I went out so their car did not blow my car up, and we all make our way back inside to start and even more crappy experience!
I walk in to the waiter taking orders. I asked if they made my order... Juanita says "Of course", the waiter says "No, they wanted to leave you out!" I said ok and he walked away.
The food comes.... mine was good, we were all talking about how the price at Bennigan's has gone up. Juanita asks us if we see anything wrong with her sammich... Well, yeah, we see bread! No meat! She opened it up and it seriously had like one or two pieces of meat on it! LOL So it gets sent back. The waiter guy, did not appreciate that.
So a manager comes out and sort of nicely says she is sorry. Juanita gets her sammich, and the manager lady "Danielle" offers a half assed apology and walks away.
A while later, the manager lady comes by to ask if we need to go boxes. The girls who needed one said yes, and I said, getting our check would be great!
LOL... at 26 minutes of waiting for our check, Tennille starts calling out.... 26 minutes waiting for our check, 27 minutes waiting for our check, 28, 29.......
Danielle comes back with the checks... Tennille lets loose about how she wants the District Managers name... a card comes back, WITH another manager "Andrea", telling us to call tomorrow AFTER 5!! We were all on the same track with, well is he gonna be here after 5?!
We pay.... 3 of us had cash, 2 had cards. We waited another 20 minutes for them to run 2 cards!
I am already tired of typing the crappiest service experience I have ever received, as I am sure you are tired of reading... cause honestly a lunch should be no longer than 1 hour, right?
Well my lunch today was an hour and a half!!
You better believe we are calling "Sergio" tomorrow after 5!!! Oh and the last time we saw the waiter...... that was when Juanita sent back her sammich!!
Needless to say... my review of Bennigan's is all fingers and toes down!! I wont be back there for quite some time!!

Round One

After Woodys interview in Denver we found out it was a no go. Just wasnt meant to be. Thats ok though. What will be, will be right?!
Today we were informed we will be getting an offer on the house. They want to make it contingent on the sale of their home. That is great... we will still continue to show the house and will accept all other offers that may come our way.

I am such a second time mom!

So as I was strolling good 'ol Wal-mart today looking for pajamas for my two daughters, I found the cutest little princess nightgown for my very own princess Hannah. Its cute.... she just fell in love and had to have it.
Went to the baby section and well... we werent so lucky. I looked and looked. My second child is so opposite of Hannah. Payton likes to be warm all the time. Long sleeved, long pants are out of the question in mid July. So whats a second time mom to do? I did ponder the thought of perhaps going to another store. But no.. Miss Payton has such a ghetto second time mom, that I went over to the little boys section and found some Kung Fu Panda PJs. LOL.. Hey it was either that, Cars or Thomas the train.
Who cares if my little girl looks like a boy! I dont take her out in public with her boy pjs!

I dont think a pair of pjs will ruin her reputation just yet!!
