From a Mom's point of view...
Last Friday, some one stumbled upon a foot sticking out of a shallow grave in a neighborhood park. Police unearthed a little boy they said to be between 3 and 5 years old. No clues or anything left behind. A community shocked.
Today, they arrested the person behind his murder..... his own mother! The young mother of a 3 1/2 year old boy smothered him while he tried to go to sleep. She killed him. Feeling remorse, she thought twice and revived him using CPR. Something snapped, and she smothered him again, finishing what she had started. She then dug out a shallow grave in the park under some playground equipment, and buried him and walked away!
Walked away........
What the hell went through her mind? Why? Why bring a child into the world when you are going to take their life? Why? There are alot of people out there that can not have children, people who would have taken care of this yound child. Then there are people like this young mother that brought a beautiful baby boy into the world, only to end his life when SHE thought he was ready to go.
I will be the first to admit that my children do test my patience from time to time, alright alot of the time, but I would NEVER EVER think to do something like that to the life that I gave!
My heart truly breaks for this little boy, "Ty". Imagine going to sleep, and waking up to a hand smothering you, you cant breath. Then you wake up to someone probably cuddling you.... then it happening all over again?! An eye for an eye. This young lady needs to have the same thing done to her! I am outraged by this, heart broken. While I do not know the young mother or her little boy, I have shed tears about this news story like no other all day since the arrest was made. She was recently kicked out of her mothers house and then a friends house, (reports say because of the way she treated young Ty). My question is, why didnt the family or friends protect him? Why didnt they just let her go? Did no one love that little boy? Did no one see that his life was worth more than being treated like crap? Come on..... when are they gonna be held responsible for this? I think they will forever be reminded of the part they played in this horrible crime!
For now, we all mourn this poor little boy. And today, more than ever I am so very thankful for all the buttons my kids push. I am so thankful that I am a mother. And today I call myself the best mother in the world.... what gives me the right?! My right to the title of best mother in the world is because I dont kill my child not once.... but twice!
May poor innocent Ty rest in peace! I can truly say, I hope the mother gets the help she needs!

Progress
You know what I love the most about people?! Honesty!!
Today on my facebook page, a friend of mine made a comment of "Wow. you really are doing this!"
I am!
Today I ran 1.5 miles in 18:38! Talk about freaking proud! :o) So proud, I am on my 2nd beer!
It isnt about the weight for me... its about the food at the end of the race!

A day in ones shoes....
I can say for the first time ever, in my life, I have lived one day in someone elses shoes.
A few years ago, my husband came up with this idea. He was gonna drop smoking and run a marathon. That's 26.2 miles, on foot. Running.
My big announcement wasnt as grand. But I decided, to run my first event ever. Only 5k, which equals, 3.1 miles.
After not running since high school, some 16 years ago. I got out today, and ran a whole quarter of a mile without stopping. Then proceeded to speed walk the rest of the distance.
While I am not looking for a medal of any sort, I AM looking for some support from the people who matter most. My family. Instead of getting the hey, good luck, good job, I will be there to watch you. I got you cant possibly run. Your niece runs like you.... kicking her own ass. You run all wrong. Things like that.
I will tell you what... I may not come in first place. I may come in dead last. But if I finish, than that is more than my family can say! I got off my ass and did something about my fatness. I am not standing around making fun of what I dont think one can do.
Years ago, yes, I thought my hubby was smoking crack in his free time about wanting to run a marathon. He gave me the strength to know that I too can do this. Only if it is 3.1 miles. I am gonna do it. I figure the best way to find out why he keeps doing this sort of thing, is to do it myself.
So one word to the non supporters.......
Blow!

A punch in the gut
Growing up I had a few best friends that while I had a relationship with the friend, I also had a relationship with the parents. Moreso, the moms.
Last night, I received a call from one of my best friends and was told that her mom has cancer. They had just found it.
While it must have been a punch in the gut for my friend, it was also a punch in the gut to me. I stayed strong for her. But hung up feeling empty. I dont know the right words to say. I dont know how she feels. I cant even begin to tell her that I understand what she is going through. I felt as if I was useless to her at that moment.
All night long I thought. I thought about growing up with my buddy. I can still picture her mom, with her hands on her hips lecturing us or telling us what we were doing wasnt the smartest move. I can still see her in her house, in Aztec, right after it was built and she was so proud.
It isnt as if she is gone.
Sara is a spit fire. She is a strong lady. I know she will fight to the end!
I am hoping and praying that she has many years left. That she can overcome this. I pray that she can see her grandson grow up, and see her daughter get remarried to the love of her life.
I hope that I can be there for Brandy, like I should be. Like I need to be.
More to come on this, I am sure.

Sign up... do it!
So I became part of a bunco group last month. It was the first month. This month I volunteered to host.
It has been living hell to actually get these people who said they would sign up to comply with participating like they should!
Out of 12 people, I had 7 yes's and 5 no's. Filled all 5 spots, lost 1 then 2. Filled both spots then lost another 2. The back up's... I couldnt really hold them accountable for coming... other things come up and happen!
Really people!
This is turning out to be a bigger hassle than something fun!
The lesson is: Dont be so quick to volunteer to do something nice until you know who you can count on from the original bunch!

Thanks for the notice!
I may have blogged about this before and if my memory serves me correctly I did, but because I dont know how to link stories, I will just make a long story short.
In August, there were a rash of burglaries in my meighborhood, in fact, someone cleared my neighbors house completely out. They got greedy. About 2 weeks after it was cleaned out, I was awoken in the middle of the night by the sounds of metal banging together.
It was a few bright gentleman disassembling my neighbors trampoline and putting it in their truck, which was stashed away on the street behind our house.
I called the cops. They were caught.
That was August.
Today is April 8th. It is 5:49 pm. At 5:28 the doorbell rang. It is the Sherriff's department serving myself and my husband subpeonas to appear at a pre trial witness statement meeting. Here's the problem, it's tomorrow.
I dont mind being a good samaritan here and there. Give me some courtesy, and give me more than a few hours notice that I need to drive to the end of earth on my lunch hour to tell someone that I saw a few idiots stealing something so stupid!
I dont mind telling someone my story, I just dont want this guys attorney trying to change what I am saying.
Maybe I could just ask if they could replay the 911 tape... that was interesting all in itself!

Gotta get it out there....
So I was told today at work that my humor is rude.
I was razzing my supervisor when another rolled up and gave me a look, I said, "you know you appreciate my humor!" She said, "your humor is rude" I think she just doesnt understand me.
Why is it when you dont sugar coat things, your rude, your a bitch?! I mean, no doubt I am, but still. I am who I am... like it, or dont freakin talk to me. :o)
My rant is over ..... for now.
My mother is on the phone to torture me with stories!
